Two job offers

How to ask AI to help you choose between two jobs

Offer A pays more. Offer B is closer to home. ChatGPT will cheerlead whichever you mentioned last unless you force a fair comparison. You want a decision you can stand behind, not a pep talk.

1. List both offers in the same shape

Pay, commute, title, team size, equity or bonus, and what you would actually do all day. If one offer is fuzzy, say so. Ask the AI to flag missing facts instead of filling gaps with optimism.

2. Pick a time horizon

“I care about the next three years, not only cash this year” changes the answer. So does “I need the higher paycheck for two years while we finish a house.” The model cannot know which life you are in.

3. Ask for questions to take back to the employers

A useful prompt ends with five things to ask each side before you sign. That is more valuable than a fake-confident pick. You still make the call.

4. Write it messy, then generate the real prompt

Dump the two offers into Promptwright. Copy the prompt it writes. Paste it into Grok, ChatGPT, or Claude. Edit anything it got wrong. Then decide.
